Hello Friends and Members of Chorlton Bikes,

We're really glad you're here. This newsletter is a chance to share what we've been up to - our riders, our partners, and the difference we're making together in Chorlton and beyond.

July has been a busy month of new delivery partnerships, community events and exciting additions to our bike library. Here's what we've been up to.

July

2026

From pizza deliveries on Deansgate to coffee briquettes, a school bike bus and a new e-cargo bike for families, July has been full of zero-emissions momentum across Greater Manchester.

Pizza Pilgrims

  • 🍕 We've started delivering for Pizza Pilgrims, a new pizza restaurant on Deansgate who want to use our zero-emissions service for their catering deliveries.
  • 🍕 If you know a workplace or event that needs a stack of delicious pizzas, get in touch with Pizza Pilgrims and we'll deliver!

Wythenshawe Live leaflets

  • 🎵 We're preparing to deliver leaflets for Wythenshawe Live music festival to local residents in the Wythenshawe area.
  • 🎵 They've used us for this job for the last few years, and we're grateful that they remain committed to zero-emissions deliveries on their project.

Brewcycle partnership update

  • ☕ The guys at Brewcycle have another coffee-grounds related dream! This time they're using the grounds we collect from local coffee shops and bars to manufacture coffee briquettes for commercial and domestic heating.
  • ☕ We've extended the coffee collection to Volta on Burton Road and City Tower in Piccadilly.
  • ☕ Email Jay to find out more.

Trishaw support for Oswald Road Bike Bus

  • 🚲 Tom Donald borrowed the trishaw for the Oswald Road Primary School bike bus.
  • 🚲 They transported a guitarist who played for the riders!
  • 🚲 If you want to use the trishaw for a community event or hire it for a private event, please get in touch.

Exciting cargo bike news!

  • 🚚 We have a new addition to our bike library - an e-cargo bike purchased with grant funds from TfGM.
  • 🚚 We'll soon be promoting it as part of our library, particularly aimed at young families thanks to a great seating fixture on the bike.
  • 🚚 Watch this space!

Green Roots, Global Voices at Cafe Bembe

  • 🌍 Despite some very unpredictable weather, Reg and Peter had a great day at the Green Roots, Global Voices event at Cafe Bembe in Alexandra Park.
  • 🌍 It was a fantastic opportunity to talk to people about Chorlton Bikes, share what we do, and make new connections.
  • 🌍 We're hopeful that we inspired a few people to join the co-op - and perhaps even sparked the interest of a couple of local councillors too!

Thank You

Thank you to everyone for the continued energy, care and commitment that keeps Chorlton Bikes moving forward - from new delivery partners to community events and our growing bike library.

Whether you're riding, volunteering, donating, or simply spreading the word, you're helping us build a stronger and more connected community. 🚲💚
